The Intermediate Sign Maker is responsible for creating nametags, signs, price boards, trail signs, posted legalease, maps, posted menues, and ad collateral. ¬ This position would be a good fit for someone recently out of design schools, looking for an opportunity to get solid experience while working in the ski industry. There is an opportunity to network and develop relationships within the VR Marketing Departments.


Artwork is primarily supplied however, there are some in-house creative opportunities. Ideally, the Sign Maker would have experience with Mimaki large format printers and Gerber vinyl sign making equipment. The position requires a computer graphic design background and familiarity with Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office, and Composer.


This person must be self-motivated, organized, and¬ able to take direction from the Advanced Sign Maker and shop Foreman.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design and build signs for internal and external support of resort.

  • Maintain large format printer and vinyl cutter as well as support computers.

  • Maintain stock and materials for large format printer and cutter.

  • Display consistency and accuracy in completion of daily work orders.

  • Maintain Sign Shop in a safe, clean and organized condition at all times.

  • Work with procurement systems to facilitate purchasing and necessary materials to perform tasks.

  • Ensure that proper stock of materials is maintained.

Qualifications:



  • Familiar with Prepress computer systems

  • Familiar with Adobe Suite, Mimaki/driver, and Composer software

  • Basic bookkeeping, scheduling, and tracking skills

  • Able to give direction for more complex design

  • Carpentry, framing, and matting skills

  • 2+ years of graphic design experience

  • College degree¬ - preferred

  • Portfolio¬ - recommended

  • Experience organizing and tracking electronic files

  • Guest and customer service oriented

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
